A Contradiction of Faith

So, what I've been eagerly waiting to get off my mind for the last nine hours is something my religion class discussed. We were discussing Saul in the Bible and how he disobeyed God because he did not kill Agag and his people. I was shocked and somewhat angered by this concept. According to my Religion teacher, Saul was punished for not killing a person. Does this not sound wrong to anyone else? Then another classmate pointed out it was the same thing as God creating the flood to wipe away all the corrupt people, He wanted to banish the broken again using Saul. However, the purpose of the acts were the same but how God expected them to be carried out were completely different. In the flood, God created a nautral disaster. In Saul's case, God expected Saul to become a killer. Not to mention, this all happened after he created the 10 commandments (Thou shall not kill). I just think there a downfalls and confusions in my religions. Like I said earlier, I love to speak my mind!

Above, I'm not attempting to coax anyone out of their faith. It is just an issue I'd like to address.

A True Fairytale Ending

I have a love/hate relationship with Gossip Girl. Sometimes it seems the storyline just repeats itself because there is nothing more to put in, but other times there are amazing, engaging episodes/scenes. Tonight was twisted. Nate with Blair. Chuck with Vanessa. I must say Blair and Nate are very cute, but Chuck and Vanessa? I think it's a bit weird. The Brooklyn down-to-Earth chick goes for the Upper East side slime ball? Really!?

After watching this episode, the scene where Blair and Nate are in the snowy park made me swoon a little bit. Everything about that scene was completely fairytale like and made me seriously crave a boyfriend.

The Worries of Tomorrow

Today, at my lunch table my friend stated how she wants to go to University of North Carolina, because it is an instate school, fairly cheaper than others and will still challenge her. After this being said, another friend talks about her hopes to go to UNC also, but if she doesn't get in there she wants to go to University of Georgia because it's campus is supposedly "exactly like UNC's".

I interrupted the conversation slightly bewildered, I don't believe one should choose a college based on their campus or dorms. College is a big step and should be selected carefully by the curriculum and opportunities. When I begin college applications, I want to make educated decisions based on research and visiting. So when one of my parent's friends ask me where I am going and why, I can answer confidently with all the right facts. Instead of muttering that I like their campus.

Just thinking about college gives me a busy hype and urges me to suddenly do volunteer work or find more online writing publications that I can apply to.

Model then, Vampire Now

So, I must admit. I am a pretty big fan of the Twilight saga. Not because it is about vampires (although I can be a bit of a sci-fi geek!), but because Stephenie Meyer has such a way with words. She truly brings the characters to life and presents an engaging story line.

Anyway, today I learned in the second movie, New Moon, Noot Seear will be playing Heidi, the vampire in the Volturi clan with a special ability to create a person's illusions. Noot Seear is a model for One Model Management, and she has walked the runway for designers Alexander Wang, Temperly, Chado Ralph Rucci, Oscar de la Renta, and many more. Let's just hope this runway model can be as successful on screen as on the catwalk!

Hello! Hola! Bonjour!

My name is Carolyn and this is my blog, Little Clementine. The name, Little Clementine, came from my mother, since that happens to be her nickname for me. I hope this blog will satisfy my need to write about... anything. Anything pertaining to fashion, silly facts, inspirational quotations, etc. I am a very open minded person, and I enjoy to voice my opinions or thoughts. I don't like to set limits for myself, I believe my life will take its course in a million different ways.

Now, a little more about myself: I'm a high school student with dreams to go to a large university and graduate with degrees in biology, forensics, English literature, or art history.
They're all unrelated aside from the fact that they all engross me. I adore fashion and take it seriously because it
is a type of art. Everything and anything can grab my attention or interest me.

Adieu!
Carolyn
